HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

 Artist: Rakhi karmakar

India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world, spanning a period of more than 4000 years, and witnessing the fusion of several customs and traditions, which are reflective of the rich culture and heritage of the Country.

The history of the nation gives a glimpse into the magnanimity of its evolution - from a Country reeling under colonialism, to one of the leading economies in the global scenario within a span of fifty years. More than anything, the nationalistic fervour of the people is the contributing force behind the culmination of such a development. This transformation of the nation instills a sense of national pride in the heart of every Indian within the Country and abroad, and this section is a modest attempt at keeping its flame alive.

Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a national holiday in India commemorating the nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947, the day when the provisions of the Indian Independence Act 1947, which transferred legislative sovereignty to the Indian Constituent Assembly, came into effect. India retained King George VI as head of state until its transition to a full republic, and the Constitution of India 1950 replaced the dominion prefix, Dominion of India, with the enactment of the sovereign law Constitution of India. India attained independence following the Independence Movement noted for largely non-violent resistance and civil disobedience. Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan, which occurred at midnight on August 14–15, 1947. On 15 August, 1947, the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru raised the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. On each subsequent Independence Day, the incumbent Prime Minister customarily raises the flag and gives an address to the nation.  The entire event is broadcast by Doordarshan, India's national broadcaster, and usually begins with the shehnai music of Ustad Bismillah Khan.

Independence Day is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events. It is a national holiday.

The National flag of India is a horizontal tricolor of deep saffron (kesari) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportion. The ratio of width of the flag to its length is two to three. In the centre of the white band is a navy blue wheel which represents the chakra. Its design is that of the wheel which appears on the abacus of the Sarnath Lion Capital of Ashoka. Its diameter approximates to the width of the white band and it has 24 spokes.

Style = personality

Artist: Pratibha kumari

A piece of fabric cannot define the style or girl's character. You can define a girl on the basis of her nature, her character, the way she sees the world. Women are always judged on the basis of her dress but is not something that would stop her from wearing what she want to. Character is a summation of the consistent behaviour of a person, and is not related to attire. Attire just reflects the taste and personality. If you are a boy, you should avoid judging the girls character or style based on her clothes. People choose their clothing for reason that are only known to them. And just because we dont understand those reason, we should at least abstain from judging their character based on their clothing choices.
No matter where a girl is , whether it is the class, at work or even at the club, there is always someone who has something to say about the dressing of the girl. Girls are always defined by people on the basis of what she is wearing, rather people should look for her nature. But for centuries, women's clothing has been held up to demanding, ridiculous standards. If a girl is happy and comfortable in what she wearing you are no one to judge her.
Why can't people change their mindsets that if a girl is wearing something, there is nothing to do with their life. The only thing that can define a girl is her nature, character and the way she sees the world ie. her perspective.
